This issue, guest edited by Barbara Godard and Pamela McCallum, is dedicated to Kathleen Martindale, who died of breast cancer in 1995. The editors write that each contribution "engages the process of mourning and remembrance in different ways: some direct memories of Kathleen articulate how she touched individual lives; other articles explore the questions and problems set out in her always insightful and challenging body of published writings; still others take up themes and issues which overlap and parallel her work." Taken together, this issue sets out to "honour the range and depth of her investigations, to revisit the imaginative interconnections her thinking provokes, and to push at some of the new directions suggested by her writings."
