Franco-Ontarian Women Writers/ Book Reviews
volume 25 numbers 1 and 2

This issue highlights the work of women writers in French Ontario. Four authors focus on a selection of French language literature written by women in Ontario: Lucie Hotte and Lara Mainville explore the theme of identity in a selection of novels in "L'Écriture de la Mémoire";  Lélia Young examines the link between the female body and memory in the work of twelve poets in "La Poésie au féminin"; and Mariel O'Neill-Karch's article "Brigitte Haentjens et Strip : les dessous d'une pièce de théâtre franco-ontarienne" looks at this playwright's influence on theatre, and engages in a study of one of her significant plays: Strip. A bibliography of literary works by Franco-Ontarian women, compiled by Marguerite Andersen and nathalie stephens, is also included. This double issue contains an extensive book review section, as well as a books received list, abstracts of Canadian feminist periodicals for 1995, and a subject/author index for RFR/DRF Volume 24.
