Adding ICE to the Spirit of Multicultural and Diversity Counselling
An experiential workshop on how to work with the concept of Inclusive Cultural Empathy (ICE) in Counselling.

Workshop led by Dr. Paul Pedersen (photo and short biography to come)

On MONDAY, 3 April 2006 at OISE from 9 am. to 4.30 p.m.

Programme:

9.00- 9.30 Registration and coffee

9.30 -10-30 Introduction to ICE

10.30- 11.30 'Live' Demonstration using the Triad Training Model as a platform to learn ICE by Paul Pedersen

11.30 - 12.00 Discussion

12.00 - 1.00 LUNCH

1.00 - 2.00 Group work (participants into four person groups and each group tries on ICE for a 5 minute interview). Discussion.

2.00 - 3.15 Short paper presentations: Working with empathy in multicultural and diversity counselling.

3.15 - 3.30 Coffee

3.30 - 4.30 Debriefing and formulating action plans for using ICE

Objectives:

1. Understand ICE
2. Learn to be more inclusive with feedback from an anticounselor and procounselor
3. Adapt the training to back home situations
