This is your chance to help to work towards a positive solution for keeping your workplace clean and safe.

        

The Joint Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) of 01SF/UT and of the Department of Sociology has vacancies. Please consider becoming a member.

        

We have vacancies for representatives in the following worker groups:

        

       CUPE LOCAL 3907 (Graduate Assistants)

       CUPE LOCAL 3902 (Teaching Assistants, Tutors, Instructors, Markers, etc)

       OSSTF (UTS Teachers)

       UTFA (Academic)

        

The JOHSC is an advisory body composed of representatives of workers (administrative staff, faculty, graduate students) and management who meet to discuss health and safety concerns, perform workplace inspections, and make recommendations for improving and maintaining workplace health and safety.

        

The University of Toronto is required by law under the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario to establish and maintain joint health and safety committees. It is your right as a worker to ensure that your workplace is safe.

Our JOHSC covers the workplaces in four buildings: 252 Boor Street West, 371 Bloor Street West - 725 Spadina Avenue, 45 Walmer Road , and 56 Spadina Road
