Reporting a Problem with the Indoor Air Quality

OISE/UT Staff who have a problem with their work area due to the following:
room to hot, room to cold, room stuffy, not enough air, bad smells, etc.

OISE/UT Staff at 252 Bloor, should contact the Operation and Services office at 416-923-6641 ext 2366 and report the problem

OISE/UT Staff at 371 Bloor (UTS) should contact the Principal's office to report any problems at 416-978-3212

OISE/UT Staff at 45 Walmer (ICS) should contact the Director's Office to report any Problems at 416-934-4507

and the following action will be undertaken:

 General Procedures to be followed when receiving
a report from OISE/UT Staff concerning air quality

1. The complaint is documented on a "Building Operations Trouble Report"

2. The complaint is called into the University of Toronto's dispatch line 416-978-3000.

3. The University will dispatch a building engineer to evaluate and repair the problem if possible.

4. The resolution of the problem is documented on the original trouble report.

5. An unresolved problem is drawn to the attention of the Manager of Operations & Services who will in turn consult with the Manager of U of T Building Utilities.

6. An action plan is agreed on and followed up on until the problem can be rectified.

6a. other contractors may be dispatched to attend to a problem if required.
6b. the office of Environmental Health and Safety of the University of Toronto may be contacted at any time if it is determined that their assistance is required.

Note: the "Building Operations Trouble Report" or IAQ Log book for 252 Bloor is kept in the OISE/UT Operations and Services Office. This log book is reviewed on a regular bases by the OISE/UT JOH&SC.
