LAW WORKS 2007

3rd Annual Education Law Institute
Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17, 2007
OISE – 252 Bloor Street West, Toronto
The landscape of Ontario education has grown ever more complex. Educational leaders must respond to an increasingly diverse array of issues and problems from the school, district and community-wide
perspective. A clear and up-to-date understanding of the framework of provincial and federal laws and of recent jurisprudence related to education and school is a must for every effective
administrator.
About this uniquely designed Institute:
- A case study method will be used.
- Case studies and sessions for the newly inducted administrator and aspiring school leader will be identified.
- Specific sessions will provide participants with actual cases from educational experience and structured time to reflect, dialogue and design responses to these dilemmas.
- Participants will apply current education law and regulations. Sessions will be led and facilitated by joint teams of education law experts and system and school-based practitioners.
- Participants will be updated on relevant and recent developments through executive summary workshops.
- Panel discussions and plenary presentations provide additional participant learning opportunities.
- Participant dialogue time will provide new networking opportunities.
Please refer to program details for specific session topics.
